Preparing for a long day of picture-taking with the kids, would send most parents to the looney bin. We have some simple tips, to ensure that your session is a breeze:
ONE Plan Ahead of Time and Arrive On Time. The night before, make sure everyone is in bed at a decent time. A great night’s rest will translate into pictures. Make sure you’re up early to prepare for any delays either in getting your kids ready or delays in traffic to arrive on time.
TWO Pack Water and Food. Always make sure you packed water and food for your little ones. As the day goes on, they get hungry. Having their favorite snacks on hand to curb their hunger will keep them happy.
THREE Bring Extra Clothes. Bringing a change of clothes can vary session to session. If you’re shooting in multiple locations, having different outfits for each area can offer variety to your images. Sometimes your picture session may get a little messy with your props, or the weather may affect your shoot. Always be prepared for any changes and have options available.
FOUR Bring Toys/Games. If you’re bringing one or more kids, its always a good idea to have toys or video games to keep your kids occupied during the downtime.

Sophia’s Unicorn Smash Cake Family Session
We had the honor of working with this lovely family again for Sophia’s first birthday! We worked with her parents, previously on their Maternity Shoot for Sophia. Now, Sophia has turned ONE and gets to celebrate by smashing up her birthday cake for this fun unicorn-themed birthday family photo session.
First, we took some beautiful photos outside where Sophia could run free and play. She was all smiles while she got to run around between takes with mommy and daddy. Mom and dad each got to take some one-on-one pictures with the birthday girl as well.
We then headed into the studio for some decorative photos and an outfit change for our sweet birthday unicorn.
Now, its time for the fun! Sophia got to eat away at her beautiful unicorn cake and get a little messy.
I’m sure it was was her favorite part of the session.

Leilani is ONE!!! And her mom contacted me to have a very special and super cute Smash Cake celebration. This session was full of joy and happiness, they came all together as a super cute family. Here some of my favourite moments, laughs and cake of course included.
She had two different outfits, both of course were super cute and with gold and pink tones. The skirt was glowing with her smile every single moment she looked at the camera. This girl and her lovely family made my day !!!

Marielena contacted me moths ago asking me for one of my favourite sessions, a SMASH CAKE Session for her baby boy!!! This was one of my favourites so far, the theme was Mickey Mouse, and I couldnt be more than happy with the results. But let me tell you more about the session.
When I book a session I try to help my client in the process before, during the session and after the session. First we talk about what kind of session they want and need, then we schedule according with their best time, then we decide the location. In between we talk about other aspects like outfits ideas, props, themes, cakes flavours and designs. Then we talk about the small details like, time to arrive to the place, the "extra" items they will need and how do I work.
Armando (the baby in this session) arrived crying!!!! HE was super upset and crying .. so I decided to first let him calm down a little bit and then start the session with his parents, playing around the area and forgetting the reason why he was crying. After this we started to make more interesting the session with balloons and more props. When I saw he was ready we jumped to the best part!!! Smash the cake. And here is what happened!!
