Siblings don’t choose each other, but siblings do shape each other. For parents, this makes it important to remember that kids are not only unique and different from each other but that they are also keenly aware of those differences. Acknowledging that can be really helpful, but it’s important that parents are smart about the way they talk to one of their children about another one of their children. Finesse matters.

As much time as you've spent with your siblings and as well as you know them, there are probably a lot of important things that are left unsaid. Especially during difficult times, when we have to stop and reassess what's truly important in our lives, it's the perfect moment to consider the sort of kind words and worthwhile conversations that can help strengthen your relationship but can be easily overlooked in the day-to-day.
