Capturing Family Magic at Hyde Park Village: The Patel Family Session

Last month of May, I had the joy of photographing the Patel family as they created magical memories amid the sunny charm of Hyde Park Village, Tampa’s upscale open-air shopping district. The elegant brick walkways, boutique storefronts, and lush greenery made for a perfect backdrop that radiated warmth and style.

Hyde Park Village is one of those rare Tampa spots that blends urban sophistication with relaxed, natural beauty. Nestled between Swann and Rome Avenues, it's lined with trendy stores like Anthropologie and cozy cafes, while offering photogenic corners—the fountain area, ivy-draped walls, benches, and chamfered pathways—for portrait perfection

Ballast Point Park family session , Smash cake , Tampa photographer

OMG you have to see these sweet images of Isabella and her family who just moved from NYC!!

This park is one of my favorites in the South are of Tampa. Ballast Point Park has many good spots to shoo a family session, or any other portrait session. We thought about this place when they asked for water background in the Tampa area. The smash cake session was at the end, since we love to do some portraits first with parents , siblings and pets of course!

When you book with us you get ALL INCLUDED pack, you just have to come with your baby and bring her/him a cute outfit for the session. I normally encourage parents to come with three or even four outfits, the kids normally get a little bit messy or dirty , depending the location but, we totally know how it goes… so we had fun with that and give the parents time to change the baby as many times as they want.

Well, enough of talking and lets enjoy a little bit of this cute session. :)

The second and last part of our session was the most exciting and fun! Smash cake was SUPER FUN and PERFECT with Isabella, she is the sweetest. She enjoyed every second of it!! Check out here the images of her best moments during the smash cake.

Hyde park family session, South Tampa photographer

Crystal and James are my clients for more than four years now… they are always a pleasure to work with. Their family is sweet and adorable. I love how the girls are growing and looking gorgeous every time we met for sessions. Even if they sometimes dont want to take pics, we always have fun and had amazing portraits of them.

This time the locations was Hyde Park Village in Tampa, we had a session here before when Hannah was a baby girl. But today we are sharing a session in this same place with two little girls rocking their session with fun dances, smiles and ICE CREAM!! YEAH !! They had an ice cream at the end of the session in ODD FELLOWS ice cream shop .

Ok lets talk about their outfits. This time they showed with blue hues and some light pink touches. I LOVE IT!! It’s so beautiful and perfect for a portrait session; Crystal has an idea of hanging some big frames at their home, so they went with a neutral color… but they are using also those images for their Christmas cards.

When your have the chance to do a family session I would recommend to think about the colors and style … even if you are shooting a session during Christmas time, think about the future or the propose to the images. Sometimes my clients dont do more than one session every year, so they have to go with colors that can use every year in their frames… and may be they add some things or props of Christmas to “add that Christmas feeling” .

Hyde Park Village is a beautiful place where you can actually get different views. … and also you can get spots like this fountain with kind of a “private “ feeling. All too often we forget how important family photos are. Family photos help you connect, document growth, and relive memories to those who came before. When children are younger, having a portrait of the family done each or every other is a great way to document the progress of each of them as they grow. Family pictures or portraits have the power to allow you to be taken back to an exact moment in time. Not only to remind you of how you looked but exactly how you felt at that moment. They bring us back in time. They’re a great way to reminisce. They are also a part of our legacy. In years to come, grandchildren and great-grandchildren may someday ask to see pictures of the family, and wouldn’t it just be sad if there were few or none to share. There’s no reason to dismiss the opportunity to capture life together now. You never know when that last chance for a family photo will come.
