Tips for having a great Smash Cake Session | Smash Cake Beach Session
A smash cake photo session is a fun, joyful way to commemorate the milestone of your little one’s first birthday. Capture your baby’s surprise, curiosity, and delight as they dig into a birthday cake!
This was a super cute smash cake session at the beach. Sand Key Park is located in Clearwater, Florida.
I love this place because it has a nice water view, beach, green beautiful areas, and easy parking.
We offer custom sessions and we can also order the cake the client wants.
Do you know what is needed for your smash cake session? Here are a few tips.
1) First and most important thing. Make sure your little one gets a good night's sleep. No one wants a cranky child during photos.
2) Things get messy, so be sure to bring extra clothes. You may also need wipes or towels to keep clean.
3) Bring snacks and a sippy cup for your child. Kids get hungry and thirsty.
4) Please avoid getting a chocolate cake. That kind of mess does not look good in images. Try to stay away from red icing as well.
5) Save the cake photos for last. Make sure you take images with the whole family.
6) As a parent myself, some advice. Just relax. Our children know us. They can sense our stress. If you are calm they will be too.

Little Oliver took photos with his Mom, Dad, & sister Emma. This sweet family is actually my neighbor and we had the pleasure of doing her maternity session during the pandemic last year. Now we are celebrating his 1st birthday!
The FOX theme was a perfect fit for Lettuce Lake Park. The pretty fox cake was made by Delicious Homemade Bakery. They did a great job creating this cake. Oliver had a great time smashing it!

1st Birthday Celebration | Boho Style Photo Shoot | Baby Photo Session
I just love this beautiful Smash Cake Photo session. This little one did so well for her photos. The Boho style had fit her so well. She was so adorable becoming a little flower girl with her cute flower crown. We went with a clean white feel for the shoot. The tent and decor were white with a pop of color. The delicious cake was also white. She got icing all over her little toes.

Here are some tips when doing a smash cake photo session.
One of the most important things is to start early. We all know how quickly our little ones can get cranky. So the earlier in the day the better. Make sure they have a good breakfast.
The cake is usually the focal point of the shoot. The cake can be what you want it to be. Big, small. It can also be the child’s favorite character. The cake is the fun part. Make it count!
Wardrobe, you can have one outfit or multiple outfits. Make it fun, cute, and creative. Make sure it goes along with the decor.
A smash cake session can be just about the child or the whole family. You can incorporate the other sibling or relatives, like grandparents. The parents and favorite pet can also be part of this special occasion.

Leilani is ONE!!! And her mom contacted me to have a very special and super cute Smash Cake celebration. This session was full of joy and happiness, they came all together as a super cute family. Here some of my favourite moments, laughs and cake of course included.
She had two different outfits, both of course were super cute and with gold and pink tones. The skirt was glowing with her smile every single moment she looked at the camera. This girl and her lovely family made my day !!!
